A lot of people these days are trying to do repairs on their own home to save money and I have some tips that will help you- paint the inside or outside of your home and save you a ton of money. First you need to decide if you are going to paint the inside or the outside of your home. If you’re going to paint the inside of your home you will need an interior latex type of paint. If you are thinking of painting outside of your home you will need an exterior paint. Like most of you I’m always trying to save money wherever I can, but don’t skip on the quality of the paint you buy because it will come back to haunt you later when you’re paint begins to peel.

So if you’re going to paint the inside of your home, I recommend that you find a good interior latex paint. Find a good color that is modern but yet acceptable for most people. The reason why I say acceptable is that if you try to sell your home later you want to have an interior type paint that is not too bright or too offensive to anyone who may be considering buying a home. Now that you have your paint you want to prepare your walls for the application of the paint. I like to tape any areas that you don’t want to be painted and cover the floor with plastic. If you plan to use a roller and brush typically you won’t have as much wasted paint because the paint will go directly onto the wall. If you plan to spray paint your walls you will use more paint because a fair amount of the spray dissipates to the floor. So make sure you have your floor will covered.

Painting the exterior of your home will require you to find a good exterior latex paint. The reason for exterior paint is the chemical bonding on exterior paint is designed to withstand the elements of the weather. So make sure you don’t try to apply an interior paint to the exterior of your home. Tape up the areas of the home that you do not want paint and that includes the trend in the Windows. Most of the time I use plastic for the Windows so as not to get any spray paint. Finally check the weather before you start the paint to make sure you are not expecting any moisture or cold temperatures anytime within the next 2 to 3 days.  

As you can see from above you can save a fair amount of money just by painting the interior and exterior of your home yourself. It’s not hard to do that you need to take the time to make sure you find a good quality paint and tape the areas of your home that you don’t want paint. Don’t try to save yourself time and money by skipping the two steps above.
