Cheapest Airplane Ticket – A Short Guide to Incredible Savings

Thanks to the advent of the internet, it has never been easier to save huge amounts on your airline fares and ensure that you get the cheapest airplane ticket available. In the ‘old days’ you visited the travel agent, you got told the price and that was that! You could either pay up or you didn’t travel, it was that simple. How times have changed!

Split Ticketing
Ok, if your anything like me you would probably assume that a return ticket would work out cheaper than two singles right? Wrong! this is often not the case. A favorite strategy of mine is to always find out the price of single tickets because quite regularly airlines will have a promotion on a particular route, with some extremely cheap fares on offer. Unfortunately though, these promotions are usually for single trips, but buy two singles instead and your laughing! This is a great way of getting the cheapest airplane ticket available and a strategy not to be missed.

Different Airlines
Consider using a different airline for your inward and outward bound trips. Yes there’s a little more work involved, but hey, you can save a lot of money and its not really hard work is it? I mean were not working down a coal mine here! As in split ticketing (above), individual airlines have lots of promotions on, so keep your eyes peeled, there is money to be saved here!

Travel agent
Despite what i said earlier, i haven’t got a total downer on these guys! In fact, for every trip i make i always give my agent a call, the reason being is that occasionally they have access to some great exclusive deals which can really save you money.

Inside knowledge
When it comes to getting the cheapest airplane ticket possible then you really need to speak to one of these guys (airline employees!), unfortunately most are sworn to secrecy and would be fired if they lifted the lid on the numerous (legal) strategies to use to get dirt cheap flights every time.
